In partnership with the Nuclear Institute, the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) is subsidising 40 places for graduates, apprentices and trainees to attend the Nuclear Professionals Conference 2026 free of charge.

Taking place on Thursday 7th May 2026 in Manchester, the conference is one of the most important events in the nuclear sector calendar.

To be eligible for an ECITB subsidised place, applicants must be employed within an in-scope engineering construction industry (ECI) company and have commenced their programme within the last three years.

Chris Mann

“The ECITB is supporting the places as part of its ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of engineering construction professionals.

“Dedicated solely to supporting the personal and professional development of those working across the nuclear sector, the conference is designed to provide a structured programme that supports career progression and showcases the full spectrum of nuclear skills across both technical and non-technical disciplines.”

Comprehensive and flexible programme at Nuclear Professionals Conference

The event welcomes professionals from all areas of the sector, including science, engineering, business services – such as finance, HR, marketing, IT and project management – and academia.

Delegates will have access to seven themed zones – Leadership, EDI, Business Services, Mentoring, Technology, Wellbeing and Careers – with the flexibility to engage with the tracks most relevant to their individual development needs.

Confirmed sessions include:

  • Rising to the nuclear skills challenge together
  • My nuclear journey that anyone can follow
  • Nuclear policy in government
  • Psychological safety in high-risk environments
  • Trans inclusion in the nuclear workplace: barriers, opportunities and action
  • The value of mentoring and coaching

All workshops and panels are CPD-accredited, ensuring that attendance contributes directly to delegates’ professional development goals. Whether attendees are seeking formal professional recognition, looking to develop their leadership capabilities, or simply wishing to broaden their understanding of the sector, the conference offers a comprehensive and flexible programme to support those ambitions.

Places are limited and allocated on application.
