Fletcher’s apprenticeship covers the service and installation of gas/steam turbines, bearing and valve inspection and removal and shaft alignment and calibration. It involves travel both in and out of the country to various client locations.

Accelerated apprenticeship programme
Fletcher was on a full-time mechanical engineering vocational qualification at NETA Training Group at Stockton-on-Tees campus when his tutors suggested the apprenticeship to him.
Because he already had a good grounding in engineering construction through this course, it enabled FieldCore to put him on a two-year accelerated apprenticeship programme rather than over three years. He is due to finish the accelerated mechanical engineering apprenticeship programme at the end of 2025.
