The ECITB has set out plans to expand its overseas operations to meet international demand for engineering training with the launch of ECITB Global.

The ECITB‘s industry leading training has equipped thousands of workers with the skills to work safely and effectively on engineering construction sites around the world. ECITB Global seeks to reach out further with our training and development expertise to help improve the delivery of energy and infrastructure projects and on the lives of the people who build and maintain them.

For decades the ECITB has been dedicated to developing and qualifying the engineering construction workforce within the UK in a wide range of technical, craft, professional and managerial disciplines. International operations have grown steadily too with a network of 42 Licenced Training Providers operating in 25 countries in three core regions – The Middle East, East Africa and South East Asia.  Having provided training to some of the largest corporations in the world, ECITB Global is looking to further increase the reach of the international business into new territories such as Central and Southern Asia.

Tristan Kemp, the ECITB’s Head of Commercial, said: “The creation of ECITB Global is a hugely exciting step for us.  We are confident that our training is geared towards meeting current and future needs of the industry and we are ready to expand that offer further into new markets, whether that is within Engineering Construction or entirely new sectors.  Our brilliant Training Providers have shown what a difference our courses can make to the success of projects of all sizes but also demonstrated how vocational training can change individual’s lives within local communities.  We’d be delighted to do lots more of that.”

ECITB Global will build on the UK’s strong reputation for training and testing to meet the wider needs of projects in sectors including oil and gas, power, renewable energy, nuclear, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, shipbuilding and all other construction projects including new build and transportation networks. It will remain in its entirety an integral part of the ECITB and subject to the same governance and scrutiny that drive the organisation’s high standards and reputation for quality.
