The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) has opened the tendering process for its ECITB Horizons: Scottish Central Belt STEM School Engagement Programme.
The programme will increase awareness and understanding of engineering construction careers among young people, educators and local communities.
Delivery will be structured around regional STEM engagement programmes, industry careers ambassador development and the establishment of sustainable regional STEM networks and partnerships.
“We are calling engineering construction organisations, STEM outreach providers and third sector partners to submit a tender to deliver this important programme across the Scottish Central Belt.
“With major infrastructure projects on the horizon, it is vital we inspire young people into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers from an early age.
“This programme aims to create a long-term and self-sustaining approach to careers engagement that supports the industry’s future workforce needs.
“Submissions can be made by a single supplier or as a consortium and the successful provider will be responsible for engaging schools, employers, educators and local stakeholders to deliver curriculum-aligned activities, provide teacher development opportunities and establish effective regional partnerships.”

The contract award in September 2026 will enable a 2.5 year contract, commencing in January 2027, supporting external delivery of the programme from September 2027 over two academic years.
