Qualification summary
The objective of this qualification is to prepare candidates for employment by attaining a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours to support welding within the engineering construction industry.
The qualification is suitable for candidates currently working in, or those interested in entering, the engineering construction industry in the role of welding operative and provides opportunities to progress to the next level of vocational welding qualifications in the industry. It is based on National Occupational Standards (NOS).

Where is this qualification delivered?
To complete this qualification learners must enrol with one of ECITB’s Approved Centres listed below.
What is the qualification structure?
To achieve this qualification candidates must complete six mandatory units.
It takes the average candidate 420 hours to complete this qualification. This involves 420 hours of time with a teacher, trainer or assessor as the candidate will be supervised throughout the duration of this qualification.
