Now in its 22nd year, the event will take place from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 September at Lincolnshire Showground.

Hands-on experiences at Construction & Engineering Week

At the 2025 event, more than 1,500 children, aged between 10 and 18 years, tried various trades throughout the three days, hosted by 50 companies from across the Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Humber regions. We are looking to make this bigger and better for 2026!

Activities include carpentry, bricklaying, electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as welding (using virtual reality simulators), block paving and operating diggers and other large equipment used on construction and engineering construction sites.

“We work closely with local schools and businesses to ensure we align the experiences with their students. Essentially, it bridges the gap between education and industry to connect young people with real roles in industry, inspiring and shaping the workforce of tomorrow.”

Inclusive event to inspire the next generation

Free for schools and children to attend, the event is organised by the Lincoln Group Training Association (LGTA) and Abbey Access Training, in partnership with local employers.

Principal sponsors for the event are the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and the ECITB.

Lindum Group will again be an event support sponsor for 2026.
