ECITB Chief Executive Andrew Hockey

“Our new strategy will provide the framework to develop the generation-defining skills and workforce landscape required for the delivery of critical infrastructure projects, energy security and net zero ambitions.

“We will ensure this aligns with central and devolved Governments’ priorities for skills, technical education and growth across our sectors.

“Paramount is the need to ensure that our employers have the skilled people needed in the face of a tight labour market domestically and internationally.

“As an industry, we must do more to attract, develop and qualify a diverse talent pool – and we need to think innovatively and act collaboratively in how we do it.

“But this is not just the ECITB’s strategy – it is the training and development strategy for the whole industry.  So, we want to hear the views from all sectors across the industry.

“The online survey and workshop sessions taking place during April and May are your opportunity to shape the future of skills in the engineering construction industry.”
