The ECITB has published its annual report and accounts.

The report, which was laid in Parliament in June, sets out the achievements and financial position of the training board in 2019, including successful levy consultation vote and the launch of the new ECITB strategy, Leading Industry Learning.

Other achievements in 2019 include:

  • launching a number of new training products, including an industrial drone operating standard and a new ECITB Certificate in Project Controls;
  • introducing grant support for emerging training priorities such as Mental Health Awareness.
  • commencing a major review of our training standards and qualifications, to ensure they continue to provide value to the industry;
  • supporting the development and delivery of the Government’s Nuclear Sector Deal
  • contributing to the development of T Levels;
  • publishing ground breaking new research on the ECI labour market outlook and the impact of technological change on the industry workforce;
  • providing grant support for over 1,000 apprentices.

Chris Claydon, Chief Executive of the ECITB, said: “While our industry is currently facing unforeseen challenges, the work of the ECITB last year puts us in a strong position to deliver high quality and timely training support to industry, tackle skills gaps and shortages and maximise the value of the levy to our employers.

“It is now time to repay the support for the ECITB shown by the overwhelming majority of our companies in the levy vote and continue to deliver for industry when it needs us most.”
