Engineering Training Product Development Manager

As a Product Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping industry-leading training and assessment products. You’ll research industry needs, create feasibility reports, and ensure our products exceed customer expectations. From scoping and developing products within set timelines to collaborating with technical experts and managing suppliers, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle.
You’ll also maintain strong communication with stakeholders, ensure products meet the latest educational standards, and provide clear documentation and audit trails to back up your work.

About you
Essential:
- Project management skills and experience in an engineering or training capacity.
- Level 3 in engineering discipline or similar.
- First-hand experience of training delivery and theory, training needs analysis or training product and service development relevant to an industrial environment.
- Good critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good time management skills and the ability to work independently
- Effective leadership and management skills.
- Ability to network effectively, negotiate well and influence people. Broker relationships with stakeholders within and outside the project.
- Good IT skills.
- An ability to think creatively.
- Good written, presentation and communication skills.
Desirable:
- An awareness of National Occupational Standards and National and Scottish Vocational Qualifications relevant to the Engineering Construction Industry.
- HNC/Degree in Engineering
- HND/Degree level of education or equivalent gained via experience.
- An understanding of the role of an awarding body.
- An understanding of the organisational structure and funding arrangements in the skills sector.
- Experience of managing working groups.
- Recognised Teaching qual such as Certificate in Education or similar
