The ECITB operates a flexible, responsive employer-led regional model, ensuring the allocation of resources is led by employers at national and regional levels, and that standards and programmes are fit-for-purpose for the industry.
The Regional Account Management Teams are responsible for engaging with all stakeholders, including employers, training providers, trade and skills organisations, and tertiary and further education
The ECITB licences and approves training providers. This enables the organisation to monitor the quality of the training delivered and ensure standards are maintained and that training is delivered in the areas required by industry.
The ECITB raises funding for its work through a statutory training levy. The training levy enables the ECITB to collect funds from the industry’s employers and then re-invest those funds back into industry in the form of training grants and other products and services required by the industry. This collective approach ensures that all sizes of company across a range of industry sectors have access to the training they need to obtain and maintain their skills and knowledge.
The engineering construction industry’s training levy is voted on by industry through a consensus which is co-ordinated through the member associations and a vote with the non-associated employers. By ensuring that the industry has maintained a skilled workforce, this employer-led levy model has helped the UK engineering construction industry maintain world-leading status.
The ECITB is delighted to have been accredited with the IiP Silver Standard, an accolade awarded to fewer than 600 organisations across the UK
The ambition was to achieve the Bronze Standard, so this is a fantastic achievement.
The step up to silver accreditation reflects all of the hard work and dedication from staff over the last three years, embracing change and driving the organisation forward whilst also ensuring ECITB is a great place to work.
On achieving this prestigious Standard, Chris Claydon, said, “We are delighted to have been awarded the Investors in People Silver Standard. Achieving this recognition was a team effort and demonstrates the hard work and dedication of all staff within the organisation. We won’t stop here – we now start our preparations to achieve Gold!”
