A huge thank you to everyone who attended our first virtual conference – Project Management and Roadmap 2035: Leading the journey to net zero – yesterday. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

PM Conference 21 opening panel with (L to R): Lynda Armstrong, Chair ECITB; Chris Claydon, CEO ECITB; and Deidre Michie CEO OGUK.

More than 300 people registered for the event on Thursday 28 October, hosted by the Project Management Steering Group (PMSG) and the ECITB. The conference featured a selection of industry expert speakers and generated interesting discussion and debate as to how project professionals can seek to influence and support the transition to net zero.

Chief Executive Chris Claydon was delighted to see so many project professionals from different sectors taking part.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the conference – the turn-out was extremely encouraging.

“As we approach COP26, the conference was an excellent opportunity to showcase the expertise of the UK’s project management community and the crucial role the profession will play in the road to net zero.

“We all know that driving a successful transition will not be easy but, by sharing ideas, learning from other sectors, and highlighting how companies can adapt their project resources, experience and skills, I am confident the profession will rise to the challenge.”

In order to support the PMSG working groups, we are keen to gather your feedback in three areas:

• How the PMSG can best help to improve project management outcomes in our industry;
• The content and quality of the conference
• Diversity. Specifically we would like to gauge the diversity of the audience engaged with the conference, as a sample of the wider PM community, to help inform the activities of the Project Management Steering Group (PMSG) Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Workgroup;
