Award categories open for nominations

Apprentice of the year (Sponsorship package SOLD)

This award is open to any individual who has successfully completed an ECITB Level 3 Advanced / Modern Apprenticeship between 1 September 2015 and 31 December 2016. Judges will be looking for nominees who have exceeded expectations in the workplace; demonstrated commitment to their own personal development and progression; and displayed inspirational qualities.

Collaboration award (sponsorship package SOLD)

This award is for collaborative projects which have been implemented at any point after January 2016, where training and development played a critical role, involving some or all of clients, contractors, providers, trade unions or other stakeholders. Judges will be looking for projects which demonstrate innovation in collaboration and which evidence impact and benefit for the workforce and industry.

Graduate learner of the year

The award is open to any individual who has successfully graduated in the summer of 2015. Judges will be looking for nominees who have demonstrated further commitment to learning and professional development following attainment of their degree and applied their new knowledge and skills in the workplace to benefit their company.

Improver of the year

This award is open to any individual who entered the engineering construction industry from a route other than as an ECI apprentice or ECI graduate and who successfully completed a relevant ECI qualification in or after January 2016. Judges will be looking for nominees who have demonstrated a significant commitment to personal and professional improvement through training and development and applied their new knowledge and skills in the workplace to benefit their company.

Individual delivery of learning

This award is for any individual involved in the delivery of training programmes – that have been provided during or after January 2016 – to workers in the engineering construction industry. Judges will be looking for nominees who have a track record of providing outstanding learner support; can demonstrate commitment to the training and development of learners; and who recognise the impact their efforts in ensuring quality of delivery and relevance of programme have on both learners and the engineering construction industry.

Innovation in learning

This award is open to any employer that has utilised support from ECITB and / or ECITB programmes and courses during or after January 2016. Judges will be looking for nominees who are committed to training and development and able to demonstrate the adoption of an innovative approach to delivering learning that is creating impact and achieving success in the engineering construction industry. They are especially keen to hear about how nominees have delivered training or applied a delivery method in a way that meets the unique requirements of the industry.

Women in engineering

This award is open to any women in the engineering construction industry. Judges will be looking for nominees who have made a significant impact or contributed towards a significant achievement in the development of the engineering construction industry.
