Over 100 delegates attended the conference held at the Radisson Blue Edwardian Hotel in Manchester where the event included a main conference and an exhibition by representatives from 20/20 Business Insight, Assystems Ltd, National Nuclear Laboratory, the Nuclear Institute, Jacobs and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

The aim of the conference was to challenge the industry to define what makes nuclear projects unique and how we can enhance project delivery within the nuclear sector. The conference was delivered by senior project practitioners from nuclear new build and decommissioning as well as other critical national infrastructure projects.

The event focused on improved delivery of nuclear projects. It also provided the opportunity to explore best practice and hear a wide array of speakers give their account of project delivery in highly complex and often highly regulated environments.

Chris Claydon, chief executive of the ECITB said, “it is encouraging to see so many people from different areas of the industry coming together to share their knowledge and experience and learn from each other. Collaboration is key in any industry and we hope this is just the start of future partnerships”

Feedback from the conference has been excellent with 87% of delegates grading the overall event as good or excellent. In addition 94% scored the actual content as good or excellent.

This is just one of many strands of work being carried out by the ECITB to improve best practice and collaboration within the engineering construction industry across Great Britain.
