Course Title and Duration	Overview
NAECI / ER Skills Workshop – 2 days	The overall aims of the workshop are to develop and promote within delegates: An awareness of the ‘high level‚ aims and provisions of the NAECI, including why it is important to the UK ECI. An understanding of the scope of the NAECI and its main substantive and procedural provisions. An appreciation of the important interpersonal behaviours in ‘first line‚ employee relations and the skills required to apply those behaviours. Recognition of the responsibility that all employees have to their employers and the projects on which they are employed.
Joint Training for Supervisors and Workplace Safety Representatives &ndash 2 days	The overall philosophy of this programme is to encourage joint co-operation and discussion to achieve improved health and safety in the workplace.
Chargehand / Team Leader Training – 5 modules delivered separately or consecutively. 6 days in total	Tailored to the ECI, each module deals with the essentials of issues that a working Team Leader may face.
SMTD Workshops for Company Coaches – 1 day.	The Workshop will provide an understanding of the structure of the SMTD Programme and the role of the coach within it.

The above courses can be run on a Regional basis or can be provided to a company, consortium of companies or a specific project, subject to a guarantee of minimum numbers. Course fees

All SMTD and associated short courses are free of training fees to site based staff at ECITB registered companies and to off-site based staff at ECITB registered companies without abatement. Companies with abatement will be charged a training fee for off-site based employees which will reflect their abatement status.

Open / scheduled courses will be provided and paid for by the ECITB. Companies may also arrange for in-house training subject to a guarantee of minimum numbers. In the first instance, ECITB approval for the training will be discussed with the employer. Normally, the employer will pay the cost of the training directly to the training provider. The ECITB will reimburse the approved training costs, less the VAT element, to the employer. Abatement rules will apply where appropriate.
