Online SMTD

This programme has won a prestigious East of England National Training Award.

It is designed for those individuals who would prefer to use an online method of study and/or those for whom access to conventionally delivered training courses is difficult, e.g. offshore workers, people working overseas.

During 2008, two different programmes will be provided by the ECITB.

1. The original on-line OSMTD Programme will be provided to facilitate completion of the programme for those learners who are presently following this route.
2. An up-dated version of the programme which closely reflects the new SMTD Programme developed for conventional training room delivery is currently being piloted. It is anticipated that this new version will be available to industry by mid-2008. The launch will be announced on this web site and through an industry Newsflash as well as the normal forums and other channels of communication.

Learners are able to blend the two learning styles by completing some modules online and some through the conventional training room method.

Course fees

All SMTD and associated short courses are free of training fees to site based staff at ECITB registered
companies and to off-site based staff at ECITB registered companies without abatement. Companies
with abatement will be charged a training fee for off-site based employees which will reflect their abatement status.
