Plant Layout & Design

The initial requirement for specific Plant Layout & Design training was identified in the offsite region early in 2008. The scope of a specific training programme; aimed at designers entering the industry, has been developed by companies represented on the Plant Layout & Design Working Group. This course will focus on the specific knowledge requirements of a plant designer. The course will have 31 units, 22 of which are seen as core units and applicable to most, whilst a further 9 are aimed at specific branches or specialisations within the industry such as offshore platform design. The scope of depth and content for this course is now established and work is underway to produce the first 5 core units by January, remaining units will produced for delivery starting in September 2009.
