Qualifications Strategy Consultation
ECITB is currently consulting with registered companies upon the extent to which currently available qualifications will satisfy the future needs of the industry. The consultation process will lead to the definition of a strategy for addressing any requirements for change. This strategy will be submitted to the UK Commission for Employment and Skills as a part of their wider review, and may influence central decisions upon the future funding of qualifications..Some companies may have been unable to be represented at the recent consultation workshops, and we would like to offer such companies a further opportunity to contribute their views. A questionnaire for this purpose may be accessed at www.mrmsnet.com/ecitb . Equally those companies that were represented at the workshops may wish to submit any further contributions by completing relevant sections of the questionnaire.
For reference, a selection of currently available qualifications, with an indication of the uses made of them, is listed in the file attached to this e-mail. If you have concerns about these qualifications or the systems around them we encourage you to put those concerns forward.
In order to meet the deadline for preparation of the draft strategy we ask that responses are submitted by 18th June.
