ECITB Labour Market Online Survey
The Government has initiated a fundamental review of National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Vocational Qualifications, which is known as the Sector Vocational Qualifications Reform Programme (SVQRP). Essentially designed to ensure that all future qualifications meet specific employer needs, it is an extremely important and in-depth piece of work for the ECITB and the engineering construction industry.
The labour market study into skills demand, supply and gaps to support this process was carried out earlier this year and the external consultants enlisted to assist us were the Institute for Employment Studies (IES). As part of this research, the online survey, launched from the ECITB website from May 2008, aimed to further explore current employer experiences in relation to the ECI workforce. It was a direct opportunity for ECI employers to influence the direction of skills development within the engineering construction industry, including Government spending on training and ECITB levy spending. The findings will feed directly into the Qualification Strategy Project and will ensure that the outcomes are clearly based upon the consensus views of ECI employers.
We would like to thank you for your time given to participate, as it will help us ensure that we are focusing on the things that really matter to you. ECITB regard this initiative as a very important step in our aim of continually improving the level of service we provide to all our engineering construction industry companies.
