Use of The Term NVQ in QCF Qualifications Survey Results

A recent survey carried out by the ECITB into the importance of the term National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) when implementing future qualifications for the engineering construction industry, has resulted in overwhelming support for the role it plays. It is therefore proposed that all craft and technician qualifications that will be available in the last quarter of 2010, as part of the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), will include the term in their titles. For example:

Level 3 National Vocational Qualification Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems - Pipefitting

This nomenclature will be considered and agreed by the ECITB's Qualifications and Awards Committee at a meeting on the 18th March 2010.
