Work Based Learning

Whether you are new to the industry or have a few years experience, the ECITB can help you develop your career through flexible Work Based Learning (that uses the TECSkills training materials). The scheme provides the resources and support to help you learn new skills, train in new areas of expertise, and get professionally qualified while working on the job.

Career Development

The scheme offers opportunities to everyone, regardless of your age, education or prior experience. Learners follow individual training programmes, so you develop your personal career path the way you want to, by achieving the skills, training and qualifications that you require.

  • Upskill from semi-skilled to craft status
  • Transfer skills from another sector to the Engineering Construction industry i.e. armed forces
  • Achieve craft status through the completion of National or Scottish Vocational Qualifications (N/SVQs)
  • Add additional units to an existing N/SVQ with additional tasks and techniques
  • Work Based Learning offers a training route towards the achievment of National or Scottish Vocational Qualifications
