Apprenticeships
You will be required to undergo a period of college/training provider-based training usually lasting 9 months.
During this time you will be trained in aspects of the discipline such as health and safety, reading and interpreting drawings, manual handling, material identification and specifications; cutting and shaping materials using hand tools, mechanical and thermal joining methods, bolt tensioning and tightening sequences, lifting techniques and equipment, etc.
In the 2nd and the 3rd and final year of your apprenticeship, you’ll gain further experience in the processes and techniques, although this time it will be in the setting of an engineering construction site.
