the apprenticeships

Electrical Installation apprentices will be required to undergo a period of college/training provider-based training usually lasting 1 year.

During this year you will be trained in aspects of the discipline such as Health and safety, statutory requirements, minimising risks on site, permits-to-work, accident and first aid and manual handling techniques – skill specific training.

This includes systematic fault-finding and diagnosis, recognizing common electrical components and cables, wiring, assembling and installing electrical components and circuits, using appropriate instruments to monitor condition of installed equipment and plant, dismantling, testing, inspecting and commissioning equipment and plant, fault rectification.  You’ll also undergo training in relation to working in potentially hazardous environments.
