What are the benefits of choosing an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship offers you a practical alternative to university and a fast route into a career with good prospects. An Apprenticeship offers tangible benefits you should consider:

  • You don’t pay tuition fees.
  • No student loan.
  • Financial sponsorship of your own training by an engineering construction industry company
  • Earn whilst you learn
  • You can attain an NVQ or SVQ Level 3, and the Level 4NVQ in Project Control is equivalent to a degree.
  • Practical work experience that will put you ahead
  • Fast route into a career with good prospects
  • Valuable on the job training
  • The skills you learn are exactly what is needed for the job
  • You will be needed by a wide range of employers for well-paid sought after jobs

What qualifications do I need to start an Apprenticeship?

You ideally need 3 GCSEs at grade C or above in English, Maths, a Science or a Technical subject for a Craft Apprenticeship, or at grade B for a Technician Apprenticeship.

In Scotland you need 3 Standard Grades at grade 3 or above in English, Maths and a Science or Technical subject for Craft and at grade 2 for Technician Apprenticeship schemes.
