Industry Projects

Large engineering construction and transport infrastructure projects

Multi-million pound projects competing for trained and competent staff include the London Array, the Thames Gateway and the London Olympics in 2012. The Olympics site alone will require vast numbers of steel erecters, riggers and pipe fitters, all three skills that are also vital to power station and offshore construction.

ECITB meeting the Industry Project challenge

The primary needs are to increase the volume of recruitment and training in key areas. The ECITB is developing clear career pathways for school leavers and students to enter the industry and progress their careers.
